We shall not ease from exploration

And the end of all our exploring

Will be to arrive where we started

And know that place for the first time.

Contacting Us About Starting Therapy

If you'd like to talk to one of us about starting psychotherapy please give us a call at 865-9692 (adults) or 865-9225 (kids).  When you call, we'll need to learn a little about why you're seeking treatment and how we might be able to help.

Since we're in the age of Managed Care, when you call we'll need to ask questions about insurance coverage and payment.  Coping with insurance companies can be intimidating, and we'll try and help with the process as much as we can.

Although we are listed on provider panels for a number of insurers, we are not listed with all of them.  If you would like to meet with one of us and we are not on your insurer's provider list, please let us know.  In many cases, we will be willing to petition the insurance company to join their provider panel.  Otherwise, the insurer may cover treatment with us as "outside of network" providers.  This means that the insurer might not cover as much of our fee, and may ask you to be responsible for making up the difference.

Contacting Us For Professional Consultation or Training

Organizations or professionals who would like to inquire about individual or staff training, presentations, or consultation are welcome to contact us at any time.  In addition to training mental health professionals, we also offer consultation and training for attorneys, physicians, community agencies, and schools.

Directions to Our Offices

FREEPORT OFFICES

Sonnet Psychological, LLC's main offices are in Freeport, Maine.  We are located about three minutes from I-295, and are within about twenty minutes of Portland and Brunswick, Maine (30 minutes from Lewiston/Auburn, 40 minutes from Augusta).  Most people who have traveled along I-295 in Maine know where the 50 foot tall white Indian is (just south of Freeport).  We're about 100 yards away from it.

bulletIf you are coming from SOUTH OF FREEPORT, take I-295 North to exit 17.  At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto Route 1 North.  After turning on to Route 1 North, go about 1.1 miles.  You will go past the DeLorme Maps headquarters on the right and a tourist information center on the left.  You will then go past the Muddy Rudder restaurant and up a hill.  Near the top of the hill, you will see a 50 foot tall white wooden Indian.  Just before the Indian, take a right onto South Freeport Road.  Go about 100 yards on South Freeport Road, and on the left hand side you will see two office buildings.  Go to the back of the office building on the right and park.  Go through the entrance at the back of the building, and the door to our waiting room will be on the right.
bulletIf you are coming from NORTH OF FREEPORT, take I-295 to exit 20.  At the end of the exit ramp, turn left and go over the highway.  At the first traffic light, turn right on Route 1 South.  Your will go about 2.2 miles along Route 1 South until you see a 50 foot tall white Indian on the left hand side of the road.  Immediately after the Indian, take a left onto South Freeport Road.  Go about 100 yards on South Freeport Road, and on the left hand side you will see two office buildings.  Go to the back of the office building on the right and park.  Go through the entrance at the back of the building, and the door to our waiting room will be on the right.
bulletThe address in Freeport is Sonnet Psychological, LLC, Suite 2E, 174 South Freeport Road, Freeport, ME  04032 (Adults: 207-865-9692; Children: 207-865-9225; Fax: 207-865-9241)

In addition to shopping in Freeport, there are some wonderful places within a stone's throw of our offices.  For lunch, we highly recommend the Old World Gourmet, located right by the 50 foot tall Indian.  They have incredibly good Penne Vincenzo and chocolate chip cookies.  Also, if you go out the driveway from our office, take a left on South Freeport Road, then a Right on Staples Point Road, you will run into Winthrop State Park.  It has beautiful views of Casco Bay, a beach, a boat launch, a playground for kids, and picnic areas.  There is a small admissions fee in the warm months.

AUGUSTA OFFICE

At present, Dr. Shah spends a few days a week in our satellite office in Augusta that we use on a part time basis.  It is located on State Street between the Traffic Circle and the Capital Building.

bulletIf you are on State Street between the Capital and the Traffic Circle, on the river side of the street you will see a large sign for Dube Travel and Mid-Maine Communications.  Park in the parking lot next to Mid-Maine Communications.  On the front of the building facing the street there are two doors.  Enter through the door on the left hand side and go up the flight of stairs that will be immediately in front of you.  At the top of the stairs, take a right and you will see a door with #1 on it.  If the door is closed, please knock once and take a seat in the waiting area in the hallway.  We will be with you as soon as we can.
